First of all this is to anyone who can’t quite grasp ‘tomorrow’, the tomorrow that is to come when the curtain falls on this beautiful yet ghastly world of today, filled with hate and violence to the world of tomorrow filled with love and a beautiful, never ending future.
If you can’t quite see yourself in this tomorrow then you are over-thinking God’s plan, step back a bit to see a clearer picture. Don’t over-think it, don’t be too ‘learned’ don’t be too wise for your own good, don’t make a simple message complex just because you think such promises must be complex because surely it can’t be simple!
Don’t out-think the scriptures. Look at…Luke 10: 21 21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Does anyone think he actually meant little children??? Of course not.
John 13: 31 When he (Judas) was gone, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified and God is glorified in him. 32 If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once. 33 “My children, I will be with you only a little longer.
WHO IS HE TALKING TO??
You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
“MY CHILDREN”!!! THE DISCIPLES.. YOU!
We parents have to explain to our children all kinds of things in their early lives and they take our word that these things are right albeit naively. The point is they trust us and believe us and we, now adults, should trust and believe the word of God in the same way, that is why Jesus uses the analogy “children”.
Matt 18 : 18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
Various bible versions phrase this slightly differently but I think the NIV is about right!!!
Matthew 18:6 (Jesus said) “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble... Let's pause right there.
He says "Those who believe in me"...He's talking to YOU! He is not talking about actual little children is he? If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
Matt 11: 25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
Mark 10: 14 He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to 'SUCH' as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God 'like a little child' will never enter it.” In other words don't argue with your Father who does know best (and you know it) don't over think it, don't out think yourself, the message really is very simple, UNLESS you accept that there is a God, that He does not lie (why would He?) accept what Jesus says, then you are on the outside of the sheepfold looking in.
If I stopped to think about all this 'stuff' that is way way above my pay-grade, and above my imagination, I might re-think it all and wonder, but only if I was young in the truth, only if I hadn't read and studied the scriptures many times over.
Is all this rising from death business natural, no it’s not natural, it is SUPER natural, it’s outside of our sphere of experience that’s why we struggle with it when we out-think ourselves and doubt God’s scriptures.
I was heartened recently when I discovered another gem in the scriptures. How many times have I read Matthew 26? How many times have you read it but maybe you noticed this, years ahead of me?
I was heartened because I got a glimpse of what our new world will look like. Matthew 26. verse 26. While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
”Q: Wine, new wine, where does this wine come from, thin air? Assuming God made the earth to be inhabited and we are still on this planet, wine means vines, vines mean pollinating insects, each man under his own vine and under his own fig tree? It might be a leap of imagination but the facts surely fit?
I like that thought, I bask in such thoughts. Looking at other people’s thoughts on this I came across this writing and discovered yet another single meaningful word I had not noticed, the word was “his”. Micah 4:4 But everyone shall sit under 'his' vine and under 'his' fig tree, and no one shall make them afraid; For the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken. Here we have a verse that talks about people sitting under their vines and fig trees, being secure and unafraid.
“Everyone shall sit under 'his' vine and under 'his' fig tree.” These are the words I cut from the internet on this subject
It says that these people own this particular vine and fig tree. It is not just a vine, or a fig, or any old vine, or any old fig tree, but it is 'his' vine, and 'his' fig tree. They own these things.
To me, this provides a pretty big hint that in the Millennium personal property will be the norm. God says here that they will be safe and secure, every man under his vine, and under his fig tree. The citizens of God's kingdom will enjoy the benefits of property ownership.
So, to those who don’t do daily readings here is yet another example of the benefits of doing them because this is not ‘an ordinary book’ this is a unique book, a workshop manual for your well-being in life, the writings could be called supernatural simply because they are so ingenious and interwoven but never losing a thread. I suggest this ‘manual’ could never have originated from the mind of mortal man so if you think you have read it and finished with reading it you are missing out on so much. I am going to finish with Revelations!!!
Revelations 3: 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. (He must love us a lot!) So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
So… is the spirit getting through to you yet, are you going to continue doubting your worth to God or are you going to trust in your maker?
